Cord blood banking is still a rather young field. Many issues require further data and the hope is that this interactive web site can facilitate the identification of areas of uncertainty and to begin to develop a network to discuss some of the issues. For example, is the quality of a cord blood unit to be judged by TNC, viability using trypan blue or other methods, CD34+, CFUs, and/or other criteria? Which of the various methods of collection and processing, which vary significantly among cord blood banks, are optimal? Are cord blood banks economically viable, if so, will they be able to survive economic considerations surrounding rigid regulatory scrutiny? You are invited to participate in the interactive forum. The information in the following topics summarizes present information. Simply click on any of the topics listed below to see an annotated bibliography of recent data pertinent to that topic. You may also search for any topic and/or author by clicking on the SEARCH link in the navigation bar to access our comprehensive site search feature. Please note that a link to an online abstract or full text version of each article is provided, if publicly available. Individuals with subscriptions to the journal may have online access to full text articles with a member sign-in on the journal's website.
